The 2002 Central Leg was brought to you by Kong Company and hosted by
The Colorado Dog & Disc Club on Saturday August 3rd, 2002. The
competition was held in conjunction with the Adams County Fair. As can be expected in Colorado in the summer time, great weather, great crowds and some great disc dog action.
Congratulations to our 2002 Central Leg Champions Andy Busby & Coda who put on a clinic of overall disc and dog skills. During the Pro Distance the four top finishers all pushed it
to the limit by taking it to their third and final throw. The thin air saw the discs in the Pro Distance event pushing zone 7 or 70 + yards. Congratulations also go out to Mark & Gabby by setting a new Obstacle Course record of 19 points out of
20. They maxed out all the Stations but number 1 it was a very exciting round indeed. Other notible performances came from 2000 Colorado champions Marie Earle & Bo, who along with Christi
Goodman & Rider achieved the highest combined Freestyle scores of the day. Marie & Bo really pushed the limits and set a new standard in the Freestyle by combining dramatic artistic elements and a solid collection of tricks in their routine.
Christi & Rider also impressed the judges with a winning routine that exudes so much happiness and handling experience. The Amateur Division saw Gail O’ Malley &
Sheela take first place with some great numbers in their two distance rounds.
